Save Youth Save Future Foundation Hosts Historic Interaction with Civilian Terror Victim Families in Anantnag
Anantnag, June 29
In a deeply significant and emotional milestone for Kashmir, Save Youth Save Future Foundation, a leading youth and civil society organization of Jammu and Kashmir, organized a landmark Interaction Session with Civilian Terror Victim Families at the Auditorium Hall of Government Degree College Anantnag. The event was held in the gracious presence of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha.
Over 100 families from South Kashmir who lost their loved ones to terrorism came together under one roof to share their stories of pain, resilience, and unrecognized sacrifice. For many, this was the first time they were given a credible public platform to directly interact with the highest levels of the administration. The gathering was also attended by senior officials including IGP Kashmir Shri V.K. Birdi, DIG South Kashmir Shri Javaid Iqbal, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag Shri Syed Fakhruddin, along with other dignitaries and members of civil society.
Addressing the families, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor acknowledged the long-silenced suffering of innocent civilians targeted by Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. He strongly condemned the past narrative in which perpetrators of violence were publicly glorified, while the families of victims remained unheard, uncared for, and excluded from the collective memory of the region.
The Lieutenant Governor announced a series of concrete measures to ensure justice and support for the affected families. These include fast-tracked government job appointments for eligible members, financial assistance for families wishing to start their own ventures, directions to register long-denied FIRs, and steps to vacate land or properties encroached by separatist elements.
Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat, Chairman of Save Youth Save Future Foundation, thanked the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor for bringing this long-overdue initiative to reality in Kashmir. He emphasized that this was not just an event but a step toward rebuilding faith and restoring dignity to those who paid the price of conflict. He was joined by Ms. Anika Nazir, President Women’s Wing; Mr. Mudasir Ahmed Dar, Zonal President South Kashmir; and other dedicated team members who played an active role in organizing this interaction.
his momentous gathering stands as a testament to the changing narrative of Kashmir, where truth is acknowledged, justice is pursued, and every innocent life lost to terrorism is remembered with honor. Save Youth Save Future Foundation reiterates its commitment to supporting victim families, empowering youth, and contributing to a peaceful and inclusive Jammu and Kashmir.
