Drug De-Addiction Seminar Organized by "Save Youth Save Future" Foundation and Baramulla Police
Baramulla, 19 June 2023 — The Save Youth Save Future Foundation, in collaboration with Baramulla Police, successfully organized a one-day Drug De-Addiction Seminar at Kaleban, Sheeri, Baramulla. The seminar aimed to raise awareness about the critical issue of drug abuse, its devastating consequences, and the collective measures needed to eradicate this social menace.
The event brought together distinguished representatives from the police department, community leaders, educators, and social activists. Key attendees included SP Hqrs Baramulla Ms. Divya D-IPS, DSP DAR Baramulla Peerzada Aijaz Ahmed, SYSF Chairman Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat, SHO Sheeri Syed Waseem Jahangir, ZEO Fatehgarh, Headmaster Middle School Kalyban Ms. Khalida, local Sarpanches, social activist Zia Ul Islam, and Block Coordinator Anush Khan.
The seminar was efficiently hosted by Mr. Manzoor Ahmed, ensuring the event ran smoothly.
In her address, SP Hqrs Baramulla Ms. Divya D-IPS highlighted the root causes of drug addiction and its far-reaching impact on individuals, families, and society at large. She emphasized the pivotal role civil society and youth must play in combating this menace and assured unwavering support from Baramulla Police in rehabilitation and prevention efforts.
SYSF Chairman Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat delivered a powerful speech addressing the factors fueling drug abuse. He stressed the importance of purposeful living and active participation in community initiatives to foster a healthier society.
Several other distinguished speakers shared valuable insights and personal experiences, enriching the dialogue on drug abuse prevention.
Representatives from the Baramulla Drug De-Addiction Centre also participated, conducting counseling sessions and educating attendees about rehabilitation resources and the path to recovery.
As part of encouraging youth engagement in constructive activities, DSP DAR Baramulla Peerzada Aijaz Ahmed distributed cricket kits to local cricket teams and participants, promoting sports as a positive alternative.
The seminar served as an essential platform to build awareness and inspire collective responsibility in tackling drug abuse. The event concluded with renewed commitment from all attendees to work hand-in-hand towards creating a drug-free, prosperous society.
