Empowering Families of Terror Victims: Save Youth Save Future Foundation Organizes Interaction Programs at Village Dardpora and Government Degree College, Kupwara
The Save Youth Save Future Foundation today organized significant interaction programs in Kupwara District, starting from Village Dardpora, Kupwara, widely known as the “Village of Widows,” a tragic result of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism in Kashmir. Today, for the first time in the history of Jammu and Kashmir, widows and orphans of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism were given the opportunity to share their pain, struggles, and experiences.
The second event took place at the Government Degree College, Kupwara, where hundreds of victims of terrorism from across the district attended and were warmly welcomed by the administration and the Foundation. Both events aimed to provide victims’ families an opportunity to voice their concerns and interact directly with authorities.
The events were graced by the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha Ji, along with senior civil and police officials, representing the Save Youth Save Future Foundation.
The programs were attended by Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Shri Anshul Garg; DIG North Kashmir, Shri Maqsood-ul-Zaman; Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shri Shrikant Balasaheb Suse; and SSP Kupwara, Shri Syed Al-Tahir Gilani.
During the interactions, the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor patiently listened to the grievances and experiences of the families who have long endured both the trauma of terrorism and systemic barriers that hindered their progress. For decades, these families were denied access tou their rights and essential resources.
The events highlighted the Government of Jammu and Kashmir’s firm commitment to restoring justice, dignity, and opportunity to all victims of terrorism. With renewed efforts, all administrative and social obstacles have now been removed, ensuring that these families are fully integrated into the developmental framework of the Union Territory.
Representing the Save Youth Save Future Foundation, Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat, Chairman of the Foundation; Ms. Anika Nazir, President of the Women’s Wing; and Mr. Mudasir Ahmad Dar, Zonal Head (South Kashmir), participated in the events and reaffirmed their commitment to continue working for the welfare and empowerment of terror victim families.
The Save Youth Save Future Foundation, through its continuous engagement with victim families, remains steadfast in its mission to empower, rehabilitate, and provide a dignified life to all those affected by terrorism. The Foundation is committed to collaborating with the administration to build a compassionate, inclusive, and peaceful society across Jammu and Kashmir.
