Save Youth Save Future Foundation Hosts “Housla – Courage to Heal, Lead, and Break Barriers” in Anantnag: A Historic Step Toward Women’s Empowerment in Jammu and Kashmir

Anantnag, October 4, 2025: The Save Youth Save Future Foundation (SYSF) organized a distinguished and historic event titled Housla – Courage to Heal, Lead, and Break Barriers at Dak Bungalow, Anantnag. The conference centered on Women Empowerment, Domestic Violence Awareness, and Special Reservation for Women, drawing eminent scholars, civil society representatives, and a large gathering of youth from across South Kashmir.

The event was meticulously coordinated by Mr. Shahid Ul Islam, District Coordinator SYSF, and was graced by the presence of renowned Islamic scholar, Mr. Mubashir Ahmad Veeri, as the Guest of Honour. The programme symbolized a collective resolve to advance gender equality, strengthen social justice, and ensure women’s meaningful participation in every sphere of life.

The proceedings commenced with a welcome address by Mr. Rawshid Fayaz, who eloquently traced the remarkable journey of the Save Youth Save Future Foundation — from its humble inception in 2018 to its present status as one of the leading youth-driven social reform movements in Jammu and Kashmir, engaging more than three lakh young men and women across the Union Territory. He also highlighted the Foundation’s exemplary initiatives in the rehabilitation of terror victim families, youth leadership development, and social transformation aimed at fostering peace and progress.

Ms. Maressa Tariq, a student speaker, delivered a compelling address on Women’s Empowerment and Leadership, inspiring participants to embrace courage and conviction in the pursuit of equality.

Distinguished writer, scholar, and educator Mr. Sheikh Suhail captivated the audience with an intellectually rich address that explored the moral, cultural, and social dimensions of women’s resilience and contribution to the development of society.

Subsequent speakers — Ms. Rutba Khan, Ms. Zumama Noor, Ms. Qurat-ul-Ain, Mr. Ansab Riyaz, Mr. Asman Ali, and Mr. Saud Shakeel Asli — shared thought-provoking insights on the need for special reservation for women, gender parity, and the indispensable role of women in shaping inclusive and progressive communities.

The keynote address by Mr. Mubashir Ahmad Veeri emphasized the pressing need for collective awareness, institutional mechanisms, and social reform to eradicate domestic violence and empower women as equal partners in nation-building. His erudite and compassionate remarks resonated deeply with the audience.

The event was further dignified by the presence of District Coordinators from other regions of the Save Youth Save Future Foundation, including Mr. Rasik Ahmed Sheikh (Shopian), Mr. Sareer Ahmed (Kulgam), Mr. Jasib Shabir (Pulwama), and Mr. Amir Rasheed Sheikh (Srinagar), who attended as special invitees and guests, symbolizing inter-district solidarity and coordination within the Foundation.

The programme concluded with a certificate felicitation ceremony, recognizing the dedication and contributions of the District Team Anantnag.
