“Noor-e-Sama” – Grand Sufi Conference Held at SKICC, Srinagar by Save Youth Save Future Foundation
Srinagar, April 19, 2025 – Save Youth Save Future Foundation, in collaboration with Sufi Score, successfully organized a grand Sufi conference titled “Noor-e-Sama” at SKICC, Srinagar. This significant cultural and spiritual gathering aimed to promote peace, harmony, and the timeless teachings of Sufism.

The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, Shri Manoj Sinha; Justice N. Kotiswar Singh (Judge, Supreme Court of India); Justice Arun Palli (Chief Justice, High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh); Justice Vinod Chatterji Koul; Justice Moksha Khajuria Kazmi; Justice Rahul Bharti; Justice Mohammad Yousuf Wani; and Hon’ble M.S. Latif (Member, Judicial CAT). Also present were Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat, Chairman, Save Youth Save Future Foundation; Ms. Anika Nazir, President, Women’s Wing SYSF; Mr. Mudasir Ahmed Dar, Zonal President South Kashmir SYSF; and other eminent personalities from diverse fields across India.

The conference began with a warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Anika Nazir, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to the distinguished guests and participants for being part of this initiative aimed at reviving and celebrating Kashmir’s rich spiritual and cultural heritage.

The session was eloquently hosted by Mr. Ishfaq Lone, renowned radio broadcaster, whose engaging narration set the tone for the soulful and intellectually enriching program.

The event commenced with a panel discussion, where eminent Sufi scholars offered profound insights on Sufism’s influence in Kashmir and its global message of peace, brotherhood, and tolerance. The speakers included Maulana Ghulam Rasool Hami, prominent Islamic scholar and founder of Karwan-i-Islami; Dr. Mohammad Sameer Shafi Siddiqui, noted Sufi scholar; and Dr. Pirzada Mohmad Amin, Professor of Sociology and Director, Rinchen Shah Centre for West Himalayan Cultures, IUST Awantipora. The speakers emphasized Sufism’s role in nurturing compassion, inner purification, and interfaith harmony, while standing resilient against divisive ideologies.

Following this was a captivating Sufi musical session featuring legendary Kashmiri artists Abdul Rashid Hafiz, Noor Mohammad, and Shafi Sopori, alongside acclaimed performers from Sufi Score such as Pratibha Singh Baghel, Varsha Singh Dhanoa, and Piyush Panwar. Their melodious renditions brought the divine spirit of Sufism alive through music.

In his keynote address, Hon’ble LG Shri Manoj Sinha remarked, “Sufism is the most powerful force for peace and harmony in society. It is a way of life that emphasizes love, inner purification, and spiritual unity. Through its rich artistic and mystical traditions, Sufism has the power to unite hearts and counter extremist ideologies.”

Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, speaking during the concluding session, echoed similar sentiments and highlighted the importance of Sufi values in promoting communal peace and strengthening the cultural ethos of Kashmir.

A felicitation ceremony followed, where distinguished panelists and artists were honored for their contributions.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Mr. Wajahat Farooq Bhat, who appreciated all attendees and reaffirmed the foundation's commitment to nurturing youth, promoting Sufi culture, and fostering a peaceful society.

“Noor-e-Sama” stood as a remarkable celebration of Kashmir’s spiritual legacy, offering a vibrant platform to reflect upon and revive the teachings of love, tolerance, and unity.
